WikiNodes

Special nodes, entitled WikiNode, that point to neighboring wikis, and describe the relationship between the host wiki, and NeighborWikis.

Part of the WikiNodesProject is to figure out what the format for a WikiNode should look like.

We can likely reuse a lot of ideas that went into the TourBus to best create the WikiNodes format.

However, roughly, I imagine it would be something like this:

Explanation

It is likely that the Zork Series wiki, the Zork 2 wiki, and the Zork 3 wiki all point directly to one another. It is quite likely that someone might put content on the Zork 2 wiki that should actually be on the Zork 1 wiki. There is a tight coupling between the series and the games within the series.

(This isn't to say Zork 1 shouldn't be mentioned on the Zork 2 wiki; See ProductiveWikiOverlap.)

However, it is unlikely that the Interactive Fiction Wiki will bother linking to every single Zork wiki. It may link to the Infocom Games wiki, and it may link to the Zork Series wiki. It might, perhaps, even link to the Zork 1 wiki, for particular historical reasons. But it almost certainly wouldn't link back to the Zork 2 wiki or the Zork 3 wiki, even though both of those wikis link to the Interactive Fiction wiki.

The Infocom Games wiki would likely link back to all Zork wikis, though, since Zork is so important to Infocom.

If you knew about the zork wiki, and wanted to find a wiki for PlanetFall (another Infocom game), you would likely leap from the Zork I wiki to the Infocom games wiki, and from the infocom games wiki to the PlanetFall wiki. All transportation taking place across WikiNodes.

Suppose you didn't know that PlanetFall was an infocom game, but you DID know it was an interactive fiction game. Then you'd likely jump to the interactive fiction game wiki, and then look for a list of scifi interactive fiction games somewhere on that site, (possibly note on the WikiNode page), and then jump to the planetfall WikiNode (on the planetfall wiki.)

If you don't know what kind of game PlanetFall is, and you just know the name "PlanetFall," your best bet is probably to just use Google.
